It’s easy to fall in love with the laid-back vibes of Australia’s favourite beach town, Byron Bay. As you unwind in this beautiful destination, you’ll have plenty of time for beach walks, ocean dips, and most importantly, enjoying a drink (or two) at the buzzing bars, restaurants, breweries & distilleries! We’ve lined up our all time favourite spots for a tipple in Byron so you don’t have to walk the streets wondering where to go!

1. LOFT BYRON BAY

Looking for the perfect spot to enjoy impressive food & irresistible cocktails? Located in the heart of Byron, you can’t go wrong with an afternoon spent at Loft. This haven is built for holiday makers, with light-filled interiors, stunning ocean views, an overflowing cocktail menu, and locally sourced food bursting with flavour!

2. CAPE BYRON DISTILLERY

If you’re a gin lover then look no further! Renowned for their award-winning Brookie's Dry Gin, The Cape Byron Distillery is only a short drive from the main town and is the perfect place for an afternoon tipple. Here you can enjoy incredible (& tasty) cocktails like the Wategos Sour and The Nutter, whilst taking in the sweeping views of the rainforest.

3. BALCONY BAR & OYSTER CO.

At Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. you can expect laid-back vibes & delicious share plates of ocean-fresh seafood. Seated above the streets of Byron, this is the perfect place to people-watch & catch up with your partner or friends with a cocktail in hand. If you’re lucky you might even run into the famous locals like Matt Damon or one of the Hemsworth brothers (coming from first-hand experience)!

4. LIGHT YEARS

With a fun & vibrant atmosphere, Asion-fusion delights, and a unique cocktail menu, the recently revamped Light Years Byron Bay is a beachside favourite for both locals & visitors. If you get a chance to visit, be sure to try their famous ‘Netflix and Chill’ cocktail with popcorn infused rum, passionfruit and lemon, or their brand new ‘Wasabi Boy’ cocktail with Lula White Rum, apple liqueur, fresh apple and wasabi!

5. THE MEZ CLUB

Famous for their delicious hand-crafted cocktails and breathtaking interiors, The Mez Club should definitely be on your list of places to visit when in Byron Bay. Settle into one of the comfortable booths & be instantly transported to the Mediterranean.

6. STONE & WOOD BREWERY

This one’s for the beer lovers! Stone & Wood Brewery embodies the Byron Bay laid-back & friendly culture and is the perfect spot to spend the day. Here you can try their classics like the Pacific Ale as well as Stone & Wood’s limited one-off beers. CG tip: Take part in one of their brewery tours where you’ll get to see how the beer is made and (the best part) get to sample the brews with a tasting paddle.

7. THE BEACH HOTEL

You simply can’t go to Byron Bay without visiting one of the most iconic pubs in Australia, The Beach Hotel (or The Beachy as the locals call it). Overlooking the waters of main beach, this is the ultimate place for a sunset cocktail & a late night boogie to live music.
